HHS: Walk Safe Program Keeping Our Guests Safe

HHS LogoThe Mark Preece Family House would like to recognize the ongoing support of the Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) Centre’s Security Services. Since opening in 2011, these wonderful security professionals have played an integral role in making our House feel like a home.

With so many of our guests arriving from out-of-town and unfamiliar with the Hamilton area, knowing there is a “Walk Safe” program offered by HHS Security Professionals provides additional peace of mind during an already stressful time. With just a simple phone call, our guests are able to request an after-hours escort to walk them to and from the hospital at all hours of the night.

Security professionals at HHS are responsible for ensuring hospital policies are followed and hospital sites are safe for patients, visitors, staff and doctors. These licensed professionals are trained in non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation; equity, diversity, inclusion; and first aid and CPR. Their work helps us ensure The Mark Preece Family House is a safe home away from home for our guests.

Thanks For Feeding Our Families, Aspire Bakeries!

Aspire BakeriesWe would like to extend a big thanks to Aspire Bakeries for providing our families with a weekly supply of English muffins and bagels.

Thanks to this much-needed support, our families are able to take advantage of having additional grab-and-go options on their way to the hospital each morning.

It’s the support of companies like Aspire Bakeries that allow us to keep our lights on and mission going, providing support to families in crisis.

Thank You For Joining Us At Golf4Life 2025!

Golf4Life 2025Thank you to all of our incredible sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and vendors for making this year such a great success. Because of you, we were able to raise $50,152 to support families in need!

A little bit of rain and an unexpected power outage couldn’t stop us as more than 120 golfers took to the links at Flamborough Hills Golf Club on Thursday, May 29 for our 28th Annual Golf4Life fundraising tournament.

This year’s event featured Hamilton Tiger-Cats legend Simoni Lawrence hosting our first ever “Wheel of Fore” contest. Golfers also enjoyed delicious food and drink tastings from Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery, Beam Suntory Global Spirits, and homemade butter tarts from our very own volunteers, Pam & Wayne Bigelow. Between on-course challenges like the Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, and Marshmallow Drive, as well as a great silent auction, there were no shortages of prizes to take home.

During dinner, the Potter family shared their incredible story as guests of the Mark Preece Family House, highlighting the impact of the House’s mission of serving families with loved ones in medical crises. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Thank you to our sponsors for helping to make Golf4Life 2025 a success!
